Philippines bet Mary Jean "MJ" Lastimosa has failed to earn the third Miss Universe win for the country as she ran short of breaking into the competition's Final 5.
Philippines’ bet Mary Jean Lastimosa who almost joined the Top 5 sees her journey end in the top 10.
Joining the Top 10, The Filipina beauty looked glowing in her evening gown during the Miss Universe coronation night in Miami, Florida along with the other candidates from Jamaica, Colombia, Ukraine, Argentina, Spain, Venezuela, Netherlands and United States.
Lastimosa, before the coronation night started, is at all hopes to continue the strings of victories by her predecessors who made it to the top 5 in Miss Universe.
Her predecessors were, Ariella Arida, Janine Tugonon, Shamcey Supsup and Venus Raj.
Meanwhile, The Philippines has a record of two successful crowned Miss Universe, Gloria Diaz in 1969 and Margie Moran in 1973.

A total of eighty-eight candidates representing different nations from all over the globe is set to compete for the crown. Miss Universe 2013 Gabriela Isler from Venezuela will crown her successor at the conclusion of the live telecast.
The winner will be awarded with a one-year contract with the Miss Universe Organization as she travels the world promoting the various causes of the organization. She will also be given an apartment in the Trump Tower in New York City during her reign.
